On May 27, a man in his mid-40s purchased items from a Hilo store using counterfeit money. The incident was captured on video surveillance cameras.
The man is described as Caucasian, 6-feet tall with a thin build and sandy brown hair. He walks with a noticeable limp and has a large oblong scar on one of his calves.
Police ask anyone who knows who he is to call the police department’s nonemergency line at 935-3311 or Officer Joshua Gouveia at 961-2213.
